Research Visit to the Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering

A research visit to the Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering (INEE) on 4 September 2025 was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Izhan Nawawi bin Wan Ismail, Deputy Rector (Research & Innovation), UiTM Perlis Branch, Arau Campus.

Also present were Prof. Dr. Mahidin A. Taleb (Universitas Syiah Kuala, Aceh), Assoc. Prof. Wibawa Hendra Saputera (Bandung Institute of Technology), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Md. Uwaisulqarni Osman (Universiti Malaysia Terengganu), Dr. Zuliahani Ahmad (UiTM Perlis) and Ms. Ommy Madina Abdul Halim (UiTM Perlis).

This visit served as a platform to strengthen academic collaboration and knowledge sharing at both regional and international levels.

Participation of INEE Staff @ IEEE SENNANO 2025

The participation of staff from the Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering (INEE), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) as co-organiser in the IEEE International Conference on Sensors & Nanotechnology (SENNANO 2025). 🎉

📍 Venue: Zenith Hotel, Putrajaya

In addition to the academic staff, a Master of Science (Nanoelectronic Engineering) student from INEE, Muhammad Amiruz Husaini Bin Suhaimi, also took part as a conference paper presenter under the supervision of Dr. Steven Taniselass. 👏✨

This prestigious conference also features Prof. Sir Konstantin “Kostya” Novoselov, the 2010 Nobel Laureate in Physics for the revolutionary discovery of graphene, as the Plenary Speaker. His presence opens up vast opportunities for participants to gain deeper insights into the latest advancements in 2D materials, nanotechnology, and their future applications.

Furthermore, the conference brings together 6 Keynote Speakers and 3 Invited Speakers with extensive expertise in sensors and nanotechnology, making SENNANO 2025 a premier platform for knowledge exchange, innovative ideas, and global research collaboration opportunities.

Faculty of Advanced and Multidisciplinary Technology, Universitas Airlangga

On 11 August 2025, INEE conducted a visit to the Faculty of Advanced and Multidisciplinary Technology (FTMM), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Surabaya, Indonesia. The visit was held upon invitation from the Dean of FTMM and was also part of the activities under the MoU between UniMAP and UNAIR.

UNAIR, ranked third among universities in Indonesia, offers the country’s first undergraduate program in nanotechnology.

This visit was also held in conjunction with the closing ceremony of the international mobility program, SEGTA 2025. Various activities were jointly planned by INEE and FTMM, and it is hoped that this collaboration will yield fruitful outcomes in advancing the field of nanotechnology.

Special thanks are extended to Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Khairuddin Md Arshad, Dr. Prastika Krisma Jiwanti, and all involved.

Visit and Discussion with Sumirubber Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

On 7 August 2025, Sumirubber Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and INEE held a discussion and knowledge-sharing session on the products and processes carried out and produced at Sumirubber, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries Japan, based in Kobe, Japan.

The visit was led by Mr. Mohammad Izzat Ismail, Engineering Manager of Sumirubber Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

INEE remains committed to collaborating in providing consultancy services and addressing industrial challenges, including those faced by Sumirubber Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. Sincere thanks are extended to all parties involved.

Visit by SJK (C) Nan Kwang Students

On 5 August 2025, INEE received a visit from 35 students and 5 accompanying teachers from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Nan Kwang. The students were given a briefing on nanotechnology as well as a short explanation regarding the research processes carried out at INEE.

All participants were then taken to Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Library, Pauh Putra Campus, where they received a tour and an explanation from the assigned officer.

It is hoped that this visit will raise awareness about nanotechnology and foster greater interest among students in STEM. The selection of the school and full sponsorship were provided by Bioeconomy Corporation (BioCorp), an agency under MOSTI.
