Transformation of Smart Sensor Technology in Real World

1-Day Seminar Talk entitled Transformation of Smart Sensor Technology in Real World was held in Bayview Beach Resort, Batu Ferringhi, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia on Tuesday, 23rd of July of 2019. This seminar was launched by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ruslinda A. Rahim, Director of Institute Nano Electronic Engineering.

More than 46 participants came from Malaysia and Japan was attending this seminar to gain knowledges about new sensor technology. The list of Malaysian Universities participated in this seminar came from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM), University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), and Heriot-Watt University.

While the Japan participants came from Osaka University and Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. 1-day Seminar Transformation of Smart Sensor Technology in Real World is one of the platforms that can bring in expertise from outside and within Malaysia to see the prospect of sensors and then see the direction of sensor use in today’s world and Malaysia in particular.

Through this workshop, researchers in UniMAP are expected to maintain collaboration between universities within and outside to further enhance extensive sensor-based research. The list of speaker and their talk titles as listed below:

Dr. Nor Azizah Awarded Best Invention for Women on ITEX 2019

On 2-4 May, the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX) 2019 was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering (INEE) has sent three products this time, where two gold and one silver were acquired. More proudly, Dr. Nor Azizah product was awarded Best Invention for Women. Here are the full results for INEE products:

Visit to AIMST University

On 29th April, Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering (INEE) successfully visited to AIMST University for research visit and promotion. In this visit, INEE received warm welcoming session with AIMST University Vice Chancellor, Prof Emeritus Harcharan Singh Sindhu and have discussed some research opportunities amongst universities.

In addition, INEE was also liaise by Prof. M. Ravichandran, Dean of Faculty of Applied Science, and Assoc. Prof. Venkata Suresh Babu Chinni to research laboratories and areas around AIMST University. INEE and AIMST University also held a presentation session on current research between respective universities.

The objectives of this research visit was to discuss and identify collaborative opportunities in the field of research, joint supervision, collaborative grant, sharing of resources and as well as to promote INEE among universities in Malaysia.

It is our great pleasure to announce that the IEEE Malaysia Section Sensors and Nanotechnology Joint Councils Chapter (SEN39/NANO42) will be organizing the IEEE International Conference on Sensors and Nanotechnology (SENSORS AND NANO 2019) on 24th and 25th July 2019, at Bayview Beach Resort, Penang, Malaysia. The conference provides a platform for presentation, discussion, and exchange of state-of-the art information including the latest research and development in sensors and nanotechnology related fields.

The topics, arranged into tracks, include but are not limited to:
