CSR & STEM Programme: Exploration in The Nano World
On the previous 20th and 21st November 2019, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematic (STEM) Programme was successfully organized by the Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering (INEE), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP).
This time, INEE has invited Sek. Men. Keb. Dato’ Ali and Sek. Men. Keb. Syed Alwi. A total of 24 students Form 1 and 2 and four accompanying teachers were involved.
This programme was led by Dr. Ramzan Mat Ayub joined by another group member Dr. Nur Hamidah Abdul Halim, Dr. Voon Chun Hong and Dr. Nor Azizah Parmin as speaker.
The programme, entitled ‘Exploration in The Nano World’ was conducted through two sessions where brief and interactive briefings and hands-on activities were conducted in the lab using the latest equipment such as Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), High Power Microscope (HPM) and 3D Profiler.
We hope that by organizing such programme, it will provide students with valuable experience and knowledge as well as interest in science and technology.

Transformation of Smart Sensor Technology in Real World
1-Day Seminar Talk entitled Transformation of Smart Sensor Technology in Real World was held in Bayview Beach Resort, Batu Ferringhi, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia on Tuesday, 23rd of July of 2019. This seminar was launched by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ruslinda A. Rahim, Director of Institute Nano Electronic Engineering.
More than 46 participants came from Malaysia and Japan was attending this seminar to gain knowledges about new sensor technology. The list of Malaysian Universities participated in this seminar came from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM), University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), and Heriot-Watt University.
While the Japan participants came from Osaka University and Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. 1-day Seminar Transformation of Smart Sensor Technology in Real World is one of the platforms that can bring in expertise from outside and within Malaysia to see the prospect of sensors and then see the direction of sensor use in today’s world and Malaysia in particular.

Visit to AIMST University
On 29th April, Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering (INEE) successfully visited to AIMST University for research visit and promotion. In this visit, INEE received warm welcoming session with AIMST University Vice Chancellor, Prof Emeritus Harcharan Singh Sindhu and have discussed some research opportunities amongst universities.
In addition, INEE was also liaise by Prof. M. Ravichandran, Dean of Faculty of Applied Science, and Assoc. Prof. Venkata Suresh Babu Chinni to research laboratories and areas around AIMST University. INEE and AIMST University also held a presentation session on current research between respective universities.
The objectives of this research visit was to discuss and identify collaborative opportunities in the field of research, joint supervision, collaborative grant, sharing of resources and as well as to promote INEE among universities in Malaysia.
